What We Do
Dog Found is a volunteer-run project based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We partner with digital data feeds from local animal shelters and rescue organizations to reimagine how adoptable dogs are introduced to the world.
Instead of standard, bulleted spec sheets, we craft creative bios designed to highlight each dog’s personality and lifestyle archetype. Whether a dog is a high-energy “Weekend Hiker,” a calm “Professional Co-Pilot,” or a “Lover of Naps and String Cheese,” our goal is to help potential adopters imagine what life with them would actually look like. Shelter dogs are special, and they deserve a profile that matches their unique selves. How do we get this information? Well, we work to build from the data a shelter sends us, along with information about traditional breed traits.
How It Works
- Real-Time Data: Our site automatically stays up to date with local animal shelters so you are always seeing dogs currently waiting for homes. You can search or filter for specific qualities right on our site.
- Creative Profiles: We take the raw shelter details and write custom stories, headlines, and lifestyle tags that bring each dog’s character to life.
- Direct Adoption Links: We do not handle adoptions directly or charge any fees. Every single dog profile includes a direct link to the official shelter or rescue group holding the dog, making it seamless for you to inquire or apply to adopt.
